Learn from top volleyball coaches, live on the court

There are many ways to be a good coach. An AOC clinic provides a steady flow of good ideas from expert sources that each coach can use to chart their own path. The clinic is a great way for new coaches to learn the game’s fundamentals and will give experienced coaches fresh ideas and perspectives.

Court training from top coaches

It’s not every day you get to watch successful coaches train players on the court right in front of you. With a full day of court training, you’ll get to learn their training tips and how they interact with players on and off the court.

Club management training

Join us for 3 club-specific sessions on Friday night to learn more about the ins and outs of managing your club team. Get valuable insights from an experienced club director that can help you improve operations within your own club.

On-demand video access

High quality, multi-camera video of every session is added to the AOC website shortly after the clinic. You’ll get on demand access to rewatch the entire clinic, including any sessions you didn’t attend.

Clinic handbook for note-taking

You’ll receive a robust handbook full of coaching notes and drills prior to the clinic. Use it to jot down any ideas you pick up so you can use them later in your own gym.

Your questions, answered

Interact with expert coaches and ask them questions about your own team. In-person attendees can chat during breaks and virtual attendees will have a Q&A just for them.

Continuing education hours

You’ll receive a certificate showing the amount of hours spent at the clinic that can be turned in to your school district for professional developing/continuing education hours.

Choose how you want to attend

Attend In Person

There’s nothing quite like the experience of pulling Russ Rose or John Dunning aside and talking to them about your own team.

Attending the clinic in person will give you a great overall experience with a clear view of everything happening on the court, exclusive access to the clinicians to ask questions face-to-face, a printed handbook for notes, the chance to take home prizes and much more.

Attend Online

Besides getting to watch from the comfort of your own home, attending virtually allows you to save money (no travel and cheaper tickets), watch on demand if it doesn’t suit your schedule and choose the sessions that most interest you.

Watching online also makes it easy for you to attend multiple clinics if there are coaches that you’d like to learn from in different cities!

"I loved every second"

“I loved the variety of coaches. The ability to see things from different perspectives. These coaches were animated and very informative and entertaining. I loved every second.”

– Varsity High School Coach

"Helped me become a competent coach"

“I’ve never coached or played volleyball and I agreed to coach my school’s 12-14’s after a request from my students. I had no idea what I was doing and the clinic helped me to become a competent coach after having almost zero volleyball know-how. I’ve now fallen in love with the sport! I strongly feel that AOC resources are 100% worth the money I’ve spent on them.”

– Middle School Coach

"Absolutely worth every penny."

“Even though it was a load of information, the way the clinic was put together was perfect. Segments weren’t too long, there were enough breaks, watching the players helped me analyze the drills, and the speakers were phenomenal. Absolutely worth every penny.”

– 14U Club Coach

"Priceless!"

“The AOC clinic was a well-oiled machine with useful comprehensive and relevant material. The combination of personalities, experience and philosophy of the presenters was priceless! So glad I invested my time and money to attend; my players will benefit from what I learned.”

– 18U Club Coach

"Every coach could benefit"

“I have been to several coaching clinics, but this one was by far the most organized, and had the best coaching lineup with the best information that I have ever seen. The coaches presented the information so that every coach, no matter what kind of experience they have, could benefit from the information. I loved being able to listen to the coaches explain a process, then use the girls to demonstrate the process so that we could get a visual to use with our own team. The schedule was maintained really well, and I came away from this clinic feeling more prepared to coach high school varsity for the first time. I am extremely grateful!”

Frequently Asked Questions

Check out the FAQs to find the answers to common questions. Can’t find your question answered here? Contact us!

What level of coach should attend?

Coaches of all levels will benefit from the wide range of information covered at the clinic. From skill fundamentals and drill ideas to mental training and game strategies, this clinic will give you an in-depth look at training techniques and teaching methods that some of the top coaches in the country use with their own teams. Whether you’re a beginning coach, an experienced professional or somewhere in between, you’ll walk away with new ideas and methods you can implement in your gym immediately.

What safety precautions will be in place?

Each Art of Coaching clinic will comply with local COVID guidelines. We ask that you follow all guidance provided before and during the clinic in order to ensure the safety of all attendees, players, clinicians and staff.

What are the benefits of attending virtually?

Although the best possible viewing experience will happen in person at the gym, we understand that there are many reasons you may not want to travel to a clinic this year. Besides getting to watch from the comfort of your own home (in pjs … on the couch … near the fridge!), there are many benefits to attending an AOC clinic virtually, including:

  • Watch from home with no health risks
  • Save money with cheaper tickets and no travel, hotel or eating out
  • Watch the clinic live or on demand if your schedule doesn’t allow for live viewing
  • Watch only the topics that appeal to you if you’re not interested in a certain session
  • Ask the clinicians questions in a dedicated Q&A session for virtual attendees
  • Receive a printable handbook PDF for note-taking during the clinic
  • Receive continuing education hours for participating
  • Easily attend multiple clinics

What does a virtual ticket get me?

Purchasing a virtual ticket gives you access to a lot of the same things you would get at the clinic if you attended in-person, including:

  • Access to the live clinic stream
  • The opportunity to ask the clinicians questions and get them answered in a virtual Q&A
  • A printable handbook PDF full of drills and notes from the clinicians
  • A certificate showing time spent at the clinic that can be submitted for continuing education hours
  • On-demand access to the virtual clinic recording for life
  • Access to discounts on gear and tools from AOC and its partners

Will Premium members get free access to the clinic recordings?

No, Premium members will not be able to access the footage from the clinic unless they’ve purchased access. You can either purchase a clinic ticket now to watch live during the event (with perks like Q&As with the clinicians, clinic handbook and CEUs), or you can purchase access to the clinic recordings after the clinic series ends in June. Clinic recordings will be the same price as virtual clinic tickets. Premium members receive a 10% discount off of all clinic options – in-person tickets, virtual tickets, and clinic recordings.

Are there any discounts available for clinic tickets?

AOC Premium members receive a 10% discount on both in-person and virtual clinic tickets. For virtual tickets, no code is needed at checkout (just make sure you’re signed into your Premium account when purchasing). For in-person tickets, you can find your discount code in your account dashboard under My Discounts.

We also have big discounts available for coaches who want to attend more than one virtual clinic. These discounts will be applied automatically when you add more than one clinic ticket to your cart:

  • Purchase 2 virtual clinics – 10% off all tickets
  • Purchase 3 virtual clinics – 20% off all tickets
  • Purchase 4 virtual clinics – 30% off all tickets
  • Purchase 5 virtual clinics – 40% off all tickets

Where can I find a receipt showing what I paid?

When you purchase a clinic ticket, a receipt will be emailed to you stating the amount paid. If you purchased a virtual ticket, you can sign in to your account and go here to view all of your past store purchases. If you cannot access your receipt either of these ways, please reach out to volleyball@theartofcoaching.com for assistance.

What is the refund policy?

In-person ticket refund policy: You can receive a 90% refund of your in-person ticket up until 48 hours before the day of the clinic. After the 48-hour mark, no refunds will be available. For example, if the clinic begins on April 4, you can request a refund up until the end of the day on April 1.
Virtual ticket refund policy: You can receive a full refund of your virtual ticket up until 24 hours before the day of the clinic. Refund requests after the 24 hour mark will not be granted.
